Post-Conference Icelandic Hot Tubbing

After four days of listening to academic papers and hashing out the details of next year's logistics, everyone adjourned to the beach. No matter that it was 5:00pm. No matter that the water in the bay hovers between 6 and 13 degrees celsius. It was time to go for a polar bear swim.
Check out the academic crowd charging the water.
And charging back!
We stayed in the [geothermally heated sulfur-smelling] pool here for almost two hours before closing time when everyone decided to head to dinner. Personally I think all academic conferences should finish up in a hot tub -- it is one of the secrets of this group that they know how to enjoy each other's company socially as well as professionally. It is actually their fifteenth anniversary, too!
