Hebgen Lake

Our reward for the weekend's hard work was driving up to visit friends at their family cabin on Lake Hebgen in West Yellowstone. They have been coming to this place for five generations now.
Joss played happily in the shallows with the sand toys
Sebastian tried out the racing kayak
Maddie and Sophie took the canoe out for a whirl
I took Joss out for a short kayak ride. We wanted to see the baby ducks, but they were much, much faster than we were! I wouldn't have taken Joss with me if I had known that Rob had tipped his kayak so easily! Thankfully Joss was quite still.
There was the obligatory lake vehicle, suitable for performing feats of daring,
and even manly jobs to be had, like repairing the dock.

I've never heard of any of those places--the lake, that river. They look beautiful. Perfect summer fun.
