Stuttgart for Lunch

[click to enlarge] On Wednesday Rob, Joss and I flew to Stuttgart. We're here for a few days to see Tubingen while Rob checks into an intensive German summer course that he wants to send students to. But we had to fly into Stuttgart to get there, and it just so happens that Stuttgart is one of two cities that has a Tausche store in it (the other being Berlin). Rob and the kids gave me a tausche tasche for Christmas in 2006 and I have used it every day since. But it is beginning to look a little tired . . . SO we had to go to the Tausche store while we were in the neighborhood.
After that it was lunch time so we had some falafel sandwiches at the Vegi Voodoo King. Then I convinced Rob just to walk for twenty minutes to see what was down the street. We walked down Koniginstrasse which is a pedestrian/shopping thoroughfare until we reached the Schlossplatz. Then we went from one interesting old building to the next, finding all sorts of renaissance treasures.
It was the worst sort of sightseeing, running from one building to the next, taking pictures of it because you think it might be important and running on to something else just so you don't miss something better. We'll do it more justice next time. Rob was impressed because he didn't know they had anything old left and we really liked the looks of the Landesmuseum and the Schloss, but at least we've seen a tiny bit of the city and enjoyed their falafel and their chocolate.
