Old Faithful, Its Lodge, and Ice Cream

[click to enlarge] Next we drove to see Old Faithful. I was so ignorant I didn't even know how often it spouts off (every 90 minutes, give or take 10). We had 45 minutes to kill, so while several of our gentlemen held us seats, the other part of the group explored the Old Faithful Lodge. What an amazing building!
Then we came back to see the original hot mama herself.
We actually saw one of the smaller, rarer geysers going off at the same time -- see it there in the background? Even Dorothy, who has been coming here for decades, had never seen that happen simultaneously.
We avoided the outgoing traffic by stopping back at the lodge for huckleberry ice cream and ate it out on the most lavish of front porches.
Make Yellowstone the first National Park? Somebody was a genius.
